Heat isn’t all bad: it actually relaxes tight muscles throughout the body and helps lower the chance of injury. However, high skin temperature increases the risk of fine wrinkles and dryness.
According to ballerinas, spraying cooling mist several times a day and applying a refrigerated sheet mask in the evening really helps with replenishing moisture during the humid summers, because
“moisture is the glue that keeps makeup on your skin.”

A surprising advice from a company-affiliated ballerina: “First, moisture over oil, and second, silicon!” What she means by that is: 1) base products have high moisture content, which decreases skin darkening, and 2) silicon (dimethicone) helps keep foundation in place and gives you fresh-looking skin. (Silicon is known to retain sebum while smoothing out your pores.) She also prefers cushion foundation because of the time it saves.
A professionally trained ballerina-turned-tango dancer says, “I spend the most time on my eye makeup, because the dancer’s gaze is crucial.” For natural-looking eyelashes, apply mascara using an eyelash curler rather than putting it on the eyelashes directly.
Perfect from all angles: Fixer that saves your makeup
“Have you ever seen a dancer’s bag? They are huge, because we have so much to carry. Makeup fixer is a godsend because it can be used four different ways. It’s an unsung hero that lightens my makeup bag!” Dancers say that they use fixer for four main purposes: 1) moisten the skin before applying makeup, 2) enhance setting power by applying it between multiple base layers, 3) maximize color and improve the appearance of the skin by applying it to foundation or eye shadow brushes, and 4) lock makeup firmly in place after it’s applied!
