Shinsegae Duty Free released its key visuals, collaborating with Mmmeari, a prominent loop animation creator, to deliver the brand's message of "The Beginning of Thrilling New Journey."
Loop animation is a type of animation with illustrations where parts of the background, such as the face of a character, are in motion, giving the impression of a moving picture as if it is alive.
The key visual released with this project conveys the message to hold on to your dream of traveling even in the hectic and repetitiveness of busy city life. The illustration demonstrates landmarks of famous travel spots, including the Opera House in Sydney and the Eiffel Tower in Paris, with a dreamy yet dynamic appearance. Such an image is also attractive enough to imagine what it would be like to travel to a new world through the mysterious forest and door.
Mmmeri's work is characteristic in its unique loop animation of cities and sceneries between reality and utopia. Significant examples demonstrating the creator's unique work and philosophy include various collaboration projects with the K-pop idol Red Velvet, the Korea National Opera, and many more.
The new key visual of Shinsegae Duty Free is available on its Online SNS channel and also in offline stores, such as the media facade of the Myeong-dong branch and media at the Incheon Airport.
Shinsegae Duty Free staff described Mmmeari's work as "unlike most illustrations, the drawings of Mmmeari offer a visually new experience to customers from its motion picture-like illustration" and added, "I hope that customers can feel the excitement from traveling by imagining to take on a new adventure away from their daily lives on a treadmill."
