- Provided masks and long underwear for firefighters to alleviate the hardships of rescue work in cold wintertime temperatures
- Donation made through Hope Delivery Campaign, which is funded with voluntary contributions from the salaries of Shinsegae Duty Free employees
Shinsegae Duty Free recently provided material support to firefighters, as it has in previous years, to alleviate the difficulties of firefighting in the cold, dry winter months.
The ceremony that was held, on January 26, to deliver the sanitation/winter supplies to the firefighters of Jungbu Fire Station was attended by Mun Hyun-gyu, head of Shinsegae Duty Free Myeongdong; Kwon Tae-mi, head of Jungbu Fire Station; and Kim Mi-kang, head of Hope Bridge’s Relief Team.
In 2021, Shinsegae Duty Free gifted (over two occasions) a washing machine for firefighting attire worth KRW 15 million and 15,000 KF94 masks and 300 pairs of winter gloves worth KRW 10 million.
This year, the company gifted items worth a total of KRW 10 million, including 300 sets of long underwear and 6,000 KF94 masks. The purpose of the gifts was to support the work of firefighters, who have even more fires to extinguish in the winter due to the season’s cold, dry conditions.
The funds (KRW 10 million) were collected through the Hope Delivery Campaign, in which voluntary donations made by Shinsegae Duty Free employees from their monthly salaries are matched by a donation of the same amount by Shinsegae Duty Free.
A Shinsegae Duty Free spokesperson said, “This year’s donation was made to boost the morale of firefighters, who do so much and risk their lives every day to protect citizens. We hope that the items, which were purchased with donations made by many Shinsegae Duty Free employees, will be of at least some small help to the firefighters.”
