- Donated 15,000 briquettes, marking the seventh consecutive year that the Busan branch has conducted this activity
Shinsegae Duty Free Busan donated coal briquettes to underprivileged households in Busan ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday.
This year, marking the seventh consecutive time that the store has engaged in this community service activity, Shinsegae Duty Free Busan purchased a total of 15,000 briquettes for KRW 11 million and distributed them to those who have difficulty paying the cost of heating their home adequately during the winter months.
As in previous years, the Busan branch presented a check for KRW 3 million to Busan Yeontan Bank at a ceremony attended by Han Se-kyung, head of Shinsegae Duty Free Busan, and CEO Kang Jeong-chil of Busan Yeontan Bank.
Han said, “We are proud to be able to share a little bit of love with members of our greater community through briquettes each year. I hope that everyone is able to enjoy the warmth of the briquettes without worrying about a high heating bill during these coldest months of the year.”
Shinsegae Duty Free Busan engages in several other activities to fulfill its corporate social responsibility, including providing scholarships to socially-underprivileged teens and donating everyday essentials to seniors who live alone.
