- Provided Nonghyup gift certificates to underprivileged residents of Incheon’s Jung-gu district
- Part of Shinsegae Duty Free’s ongoing commitment to social contribution activities (e.g. giving gifts of daily essentials on major holidays, serving lunch to local senior citizens, conserving Yeongjong-do’s mudflats)
Shinsegae Duty Free donated a supply of Nonghyup gift certificates, as it did in 2022, to underprivileged residents of Jung-gu.
At the ceremony, held on December 23 in Jung-gu Office’s new building and attended by Kwak Jong-woo, head of Shinsegae Duty Free’s Incheon International Airport branch, and Kim Jung-hee, head of Jung-gu Office’s International Urban Administration Division, Shinsegae Duty Free presented a check for KRW 25 million. The funds will be spent for eligible local residents by the Korea Foundation for Cooperation of Large & Small Business, Rural Affairs, with whom Shinsegae Duty Free signed an MOU in 2020 on a partnered growth fund for rural villages.
Each year, Shinsegae Duty Free engages in various social contribution activities for the benefit of residents in cities in which its branches are located in order to fulfill its corporate social responsibilities. For Chuseok this year, it gave gifts of daily essentials to seniors living alone and grandparent-grandchild households in Busan. Shinsegae Duty Free has also engaged in activities such as serving lunch and providing boxed meals to local senior citizens and donating to toy rental centers. It also participates regularly in activities for the protection of Yeongjong-do’s mudflats, which are home to several species of endangered birds.
A Shinsegae Duty Free official said, “We hope this donation helps make the holiday season a more cheerful time of year for those who receive it. Shinsegae Duty Free will continue making various efforts and providing whatever assistance we can for partnered growth with local players.”
